Entain Launches ‘The Chase’ Live Gameshow


Online gaming company Entain has announced the launch of a new live gameshow based on the popular UK gameshow ‘The Chase’ which airs on ITV and has a viewership of four million.

During its month-long soft launch, player spend on ‘The Chase’ increased by 56%

According to the announcement, the new live offering has been developed in partnership with ITV and gaming tech provider Playtech. In a slight deviation from the TV version of the game, it features a plinko board alongside bonus features. As a result, players do not need to answer general knowledge questions in order to win.

Soft Launch Success

Entain has also revealed that in the month since its soft launch in the UK, Ontario, Belgium, and Brazil, ‘The Chase’ has seen player spend increase by 56%. This is three times the revenue increase of similar plinko-style games in their first month of operations.

Following the game’s official launch the next markets to follow will be South Africa and Italy. No details of further market launches have yet been released.

‘The Chase’ is hosted from Playtech’s live studio in Riga and is available 24/7 exclusively through Entain’s brands.

The Competition

‘The Chase’ will go head-to-head with other major TV gameshow and live gameshow formats which have been a major success for providers such as Evolution in particular.

In 2023, 84% of Evolution’s gaming revenue came from live casino games with its flagship gameshows Deal or No Deal, Crazy Time, and Monopoly Live leading the way. However, it’s the Deal or No Deal customer-base that ‘The Chase’ will most likely to appeal to.
